Officially starting blogging in a couple days

So in couple days I will officially start my cooking adventures but I thought that I would post my recent cooking fun for now. Today I baked my famous Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies but added less sugar than usual which actually turned out okay. I found that one does not need a lot of sugar in the batter because the chocolate chips are sweet enough. My family raves about them and so do my friends. This is an easy recipe and is great for the family or bring to a party.

Makes about 20-30 cookies             Prep time: 10-15 min          Total cooking time: 32 min

Heat oven to 350 degrees
1. Whisk together:
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt (I don’t usually put salt in because I use salted butter)

2. In a separate bowl blend:
2 sticks of unsalted butter (if you use salted butter don’t add salt)
2 Tbs. sugar
1 cup packed dark brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

3. Stir in flour mixture. Then add:
3 1/2 cups of rolled oats
1 cup dark chocolate chips

4. Shape the dough into 1 1/2 inch balls and place on a cookie sheet 2 inches apart form one another. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown individually. (Should be about 3-4 cookie sheets worth depending on how small you make them).
